How do certificates and statements reach Galley and the lender?
When your company also uses Galley and Margin to Galley is switched on, Margin sends each approved covenant certificate and stock and debtors statement to your data room as its Excel file, as soon as it's approved, and checks again every morning. A certificate goes only while its month is locked. If you keep books for more than one company, only your default company's loans are sent.
In Galley, the first certificate and the first statement of each loan wait in the Inbox with no folder chosen, as each belongs to one lender. File them in a folder only your team can open: not in Financials or Loan papers, or anywhere investors or other lenders can open, as access to a folder reaches every folder inside it. Tick Keep this updated as you file one, and each later month of that loan follows it into the same folder by itself.
To send them on to the lender, set up the lender's reports in Galley with Comes from set to Margin's covenant certificate or Margin's stock statement, and choose the loan. Each month filed in Galley is then copied to that lender's own folder (Galley's help on reports from Margin).
In Galley, each is named for its loan and period, such as "Covenant certificate, HDFC Bank TL-001, Q2 2026-27" (a certificate with a quarterly covenant names its quarter, any other its month) or "Stock and debtors statement, HDFC Bank CC-0458, September 2026", with a line beside it such as "5 covenants at 30 September 2026, 1 close and 1 breached. Approved in Margin on 21 October 2026."
