Margin Ledger · For CAs

Built so your CA does less clean-up.

Margin proposes the routine entries and a person approves each one before it reaches the books, so your CA reviews the month instead of rebuilding it. They can sign in to the same books, or keep working in Tally with an export.

Their own sign-in

Add your CA as a person with the Finance role, and they sign in with 1936 AI using their own email. Settings → Permissions decides what the Finance role can do, from approving expenses to posting to the ledger or exporting to Tally.

  • Signs in with Google, Microsoft or email
  • You choose what the Finance role can change
  • The same books you see, not a copy

Every entry approved before it posts

Nothing reaches the books until a person approves it in the Review inbox. Locking a month at close stops anything being posted to it, and opening it again needs a six-digit code emailed to you. A reopened payroll run reverses what it had posted, and its history keeps every change and who made it.

  • Every entry approved by a person
  • Closed months locked
  • Reopened payroll reversed, not overwritten
  • Each reveal of bank details logged

A Tally export when they want it

Pick the dates, fix anything flagged, such as a missing GST number or ledger mapping, and make a file to import into Tally. Each expense goes once, so a re-run takes only new and corrected ones, and the history keeps every export.

  • Opening balances from a Tally trial balance
  • A tie-out with your CA's trial balance
  • Tally ledger names mapped once
  • Every export kept

Good questions.

No. Send them the Tally export each month and nothing changes for them. Or add them with the Finance role, so they sign in to the same books with their own email.

Yes. In Books → Opening & tie-out, upload their trial balance for any date and run the tie-out: Margin compares it with its own, account by account.

Your CA, or you. Margin works out GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, 26Q and 24Q from the books. They are filed on the portal, you record the filed figures, and Margin shows whether the books agree.

Export the trial balance on your start date from Tally as a CSV and upload it in Books → Opening & tie-out. Match any ledger names Margin can't place, and Margin remembers them. Then commit, and Margin posts one opening entry.
