How do I get instant alerts in another tool (webhooks)?

A webhook is an address your tool gives you. Galley sends a message to it the moment something happens. Owners can add one, on the Pro plan:

  1. In your tool, find its webhook address. It must start with https://.
  2. In Company settings (click your picture at the top right, then Company settings), under Instant alerts to other tools (webhooks), paste the address, tick the events to send and choose Add endpoint.
  3. Copy the signing secret (it starts with whsec_) into your tool. It's shown once. See how to check a webhook came from Galley.
  4. Choose Send test event to see it arrive.

The events you can send: an investor opens a document (document.viewed) or downloads one (document.downloaded), accepts their invitation (investor.joined) or the NDA (nda.accepted), asks a question (question.asked) or for a document (document.requested); someone asks for access (access.requested); and an investor shows strong interest (investor.hot), the same signs Galley emails your team about (see hot investors).

If your tool doesn't answer, Galley tries again after 1 minute, 5 minutes, 30 minutes, 2 hours and 6 hours, then gives up on that message. After 50 failures in a row it turns the endpoint off and says so in Company settings: fix your tool, then choose Turn back on. A company can have up to 10 endpoints.
